Britains Biggest Breakfast

This Friday – 11th March 2016 is Britains Biggest Breakfast in aid of Cancer Research UK and we are in!

FOOD, MONEY, CANCER. 3 of the most serious words we know. But if you put them together you get Britains Biggest Breakfast! People all over the country will be hosting a big breakfast, others will be donating to CRUK via their host, while scoffing down their breakfast delights. As much as we would love to, we cant host a breakfast for you all, so instead we are fundraising to help beat cancer sooner, by offering our no nonsense breakfast smoothie recipes, in exchange for your donation. The booklet has our 3 fave breakfast smoothies for you try!

How do you get this and how do you donate?
1) Donate here http://www.justgiving.com/nononsensenita
2) Send me your email address (via facebook message  / email info@nitakothari.com / sign up at nitakothari.com)
3) Receive your smoothie recipes to make on Friday 11th March

And remember to share your creations too – you can do so by tweeting us @nononsensenita / tagging your photos via Instagram with #nononsensenita / posting them on our Facebook page / or simply sending me an email with your efforts.  You can also tag all your creations and comments with #BritainsBiggestBreakfast

We love to share and to know what you’re doing too so make sure you share your efforts this Friday 11th March.

Interantional Womens Day 2016

Today is International Womens Day 2016.  I want to urge all my wonderful ladies to do themselves a favour and take a look at the wonderful women I had the pleasure of sharing last Friday with.  Inspiring doesn’t even cover it.  I was blown away by their positive generosity and their incredible achievements.  Without sounding too much of a hippy chick – all these women resonated with me and the journey I’m on. I know you’re are with me, so encourage you, really, to take a look at the stories of these strong women too.

Please go ahead and seek out all you can about these 3 women today: IWD BLOG

Positive Steps

Anyone fancy joining me in taking some positive steps for charity? Walking (for health) and for Mind in Croydon?

There’s no fundraising required (unless you want to too),  just a small entry fee to pay to get involved.  It’s 15kms –  just walking, so I imagine may take a couple hours.  I’m in, so would anyone like to join me for snacks and gossip on the way round?

I would love your company and its all for a good cause.  Its not until the end of June, so fingers crossed the weather has improved by then too!  Email me info@nitakothari.com to let me know if you’re up for it!  Then register via this link: http://www.mindincroydon.org.uk/positive-steps.asp

Positive steps. Positive energy. Positive attitude. No nonsense.

Thank You

This we just want to say a great big fat huge thank you.  I want to take the opportunity to say thank you  to everyone that has got involved with no nonsense so far.  Our little tribe is growing fast and that makes me happy and grateful to you all, every day.  This last week especially, I’m grateful to all of you who who have come to me personally and shared your recent successes and said thank you for advice and help.  This is what makes it all worthwhile and this is exactly why I do this.  I realise how important a thank you is, so I’m paying it forward (or back?!) and appreciating you all today too!
Well we’re not athletes or pros, we are not dieters or body/food shamers, we don’t have a lot of time, or a lot of money.  We are not too interested in health products that we cant pronounce or have to buy online rather than the supermarket, we don’t do fads!  We do enjoy healthy eating, healthy living and are very much interested in nutrition.  We do enjoy a drink, a night out and (lots of) cake.  We understand BALANCE. We want to save time and money while preparing real food to make us feel good.  And in all ways, we strive to create an environment and outlook that makes and keep us and those around us happy.  We like to share how we do this by following a no nonsense, easy, practical approach.

For the LOVE of PANCAKES

For the love of pancakes this is definitely one of the better weeks of the year. Tuesday was Pancake Day – whoop! And Sunday will be Valentines Day, so love is in the air – another whoop! Two of my favourite ever celebrations! Come on – who doesn’t LOVE PANCAKES?!

And ok – who has never actually made pancakes before?  Who enjoys a stack when eating out? Who has a friend/family member/other half that cooks them for us?

Well me too.  My love of pancake day and all things pancakes was threatened this year when I realised I wouldn’t get to see my best mate who makes THE BEST blueberry pancakes ever, or see my boy who has a simple but classic pancake recipe that works every time.  So I decided to make them myself.  If you follow me on Facebook / Twitter / Instagram you will have seen the (amazing if I say so myself) results.  If you don’t follow me on social media do it now to see the results, then email me on info@nitakothari.com for the recipes we tried and tested and the alterations to the creations we used to A) make things healthy and to B) save time and effort, while giving maximum results and taste – no nonsense.

Fit in Feb – week 2

Get Fit in Feb – we are still doing it! Welcome back to Monday. Its the 2nd week of the month and it sounds like the first week was a success for us all in the mission to Get Fit in Feb! Very well done and thanks all for sharing your efforts. Good luck in continuing this week. (if you haven’t joined the event yet, no worries, you can do so here)

This week, week 2 – lets step it up a notch! This week of Get Fit in Feb is to build on what you’ve achieved. To continue what you’ve started, to keep at it and keep motivated.

Sometimes its not the starting, but the continuing that’s the challenge – this may be where we need support, so tell people what you’re aiming for, tell partners, friends, family, colleagues. SHARE, create awareness and create a little network of encouragement for yourselves. If you can and want to, go ahead and rope others into your training or your challenges too! Encouragement and appreciation of your efforts will go a long way, so tell people what you’re gonna do – do it – and take the congratulations and positive feedback! And remember it works both ways. If anyone tells you they are starting out, stick with them and give them the pat on the back they deserve when they do well too!

Our facebook shares in our little event are both inspiring and encouraging, so please go ahead and get involved: Facebook event.   If you’d rather share personally and directly please feel free to email me: info@nitakothari.com

And remember: “The best preparation for tomorrow is doing your best today.” (H. Jackson Brown, Jr)

Happy Monday, have a great week and do your best!

Getting Fit in Feb week 1

It’s been almost a week of Getting Fit in Feb. How are we all doing? Anyone actually getting some more activity in their lives this week, anyone eating well, sleeping well, or making and sticking to any other health and wellness goals yet….?  Yes?  Well done!  Keep it up!
I am proud to say I found a suitable beginners running plan, and I’ve pretty much stuck to my intentions of starting it! Treadmill runs twice so far this week with a total of 6kms run. Not a lot to some, but much better than my January efforts…. The image here is a snapshot of wonderfully encouraging reminder I received at the end of Jan that really made me laugh!  But it just goes to show – we all have to start somewhere and we can always do better!

For motivation, support and tips on how to Get Fit in Feb, how to shape your goals and actions and measure your results, please get involved HERE and get in contact info@nitakothari.com for more info and a free consultation (any consultation bookings made in Feb will be free)

Get Fit in Feb

Confession – we’ve not hit the gym since before xmas! Eeeek! We did have the excuse of broken toes and “tennis” elbow (?!) But Monday will be a new start .

As it’s a Monday and the 1st of February, we’re launching ‘Get Fit in Feb’ and we’re asking your help. We will post our pics, tips and progress reports, but would totally welcome your support and motivation along the way. I’m inviting encouragement, comments and pics of you doing your bit to get fit too – success stories and total fails welcome! – We are only human!

January was supposed to be about getting fit and healthy, but we all know what happens when the excitement of the new year wears off and the Jan blues creep in, so to keep motivated and to re-boost through Feb from the comfort of your own home (whether you’re trying to lose weight, train for a 5k, start a healthier diet etc), lets start again and ‘Get Fit in Feb’ and let’s do it together!

Who’s in? Who’s with me? YEP? Please join our Facebook event page to get involved!

How to: GET THINGS DONE!

Anyone noticed the mornings are starting to get a little lighter and the evenings stay lighter longer now? Yep, we are slowly but surely creeping out of January! So congratulate yourselves on getting through officially the darkest 10 weeks of the year! To celebrate we have been shaking things up a little this week and tackling the dreaded TO DO list that always seems a little longer in January! We have taken on the TO DO’s in a new fashion to actually get things done – and its working – so this week we wanted to show you how.

We look at time monitoring, “done” lists and simply doing one thing at a time as these are the ways we have learned help to literally get things done after staring blankly at a 16 page to do list for a few weeks and feeling the overwhelm of the list seemingly getting longer – not shorter – each and every day!  Sound familiar?  Well that’s OK, because we found a solution – read this weeks blog for more HERE and please do share your tips and tricks on how to get things done via the comments here or join the discussion on Facebook and/or Twitter
